Instructions

I receive regular instruction to prepare reports for criminal, family and civil proceedings and am able to undertake work nationwide. In addition, I am able to undertake consultation at St. Nicholas Hospital (forensic outpatients), solicitor’s offices, home assessment or prison.

Appointments are available weekdays, evenings and weekends. Preparation time to complete a report is usually 1 – 2 weeks, however, in certain circumstances I am able to provide a service within 24 hours. Fees for my work are capped and I am compliant with the LSC.

Relevant Clinical Experience

Dr. Lingam has been a Consultant Psychiatrist in the NHS for 14 years and has an extensive range of clinical experience in working in inpatient, secure and community settings, and with detained and conditional pateints. He is approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983 as amended by the Mental Health Act 2007.

Dr. Lingam is the Lead Clinician in the nationally commissioned secure forensic personality disorder services in St Nicholas’ Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne. He has extensive experience in assessing and treating individuals suffering complex personality disturbance, trauma and severe mental illness. Dr. Lingam is also trained and has experience in the use of personality and risk (including risk of violence) assessment tools. He has specialist experience in the risk assessment of individuals who are a risk to themselves and mentally disordered offenders who are deemed primarily a risk to others.
