Dr Ravi Lingam's specialist field is Forensic Psychiatry and Personality Disorders. He is Assistant Associate Medical Director for the secure services, Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist working in Forensic Personality Disorder Service in the NHS, having trained in the Northern Deanery and Newcastle Hospitals.
Dr Ravi Lingam is the Clinical Lead in a nationally-commissioned secure hospital service for offenders with personality disorders.
He is a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist in independent practice for 13 years.
He is an accredited trainer and supervisor in general adult psychiatry, forensic psychiatry and psychotherapy working with multi-professionals in a variety of NHS and non-NHS settings including the voluntary sector and university.
He developed a Modular Training in Working with Persoanlity Disorders in the Department of Forensic Psychiatry. Dr Lingam developed the MSc training in the North of England in Application of Psychotherapy, working with multiprofessionals in a variety of NHS and non-NHS settings including the voluntary sector, linked to Buckinghamshire New University.
